Guide to Kaufman Heroes

A Special Message from the Veterans of Kaufman County

Written by John R. Moore

Kaufman County is home to more than 7,000 Veterans.  Perhaps that’s why there is such a staunch sense of patriotism in so many community fixtures.  Truly taking pride in the country and showing gratitude for the military are two things even a casual traveler will notice about Kaufman.

If you didn’t celebrate Veterans Day formally, it’s not too late.  Make your way to the Kaufman County Veterans Memorial.  It’s one of the most stunning displays of gratitude to our military that you can find in the State of Texas.  And maybe that’s why so many Veterans call Kaufman County their home.  Wait, which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Either way, we like our Veterans.  And to prove it, some members of the Kaufman VFW organized to help us shoot a little Veterans Day video.  We think you’ll like it.

Also, don’t miss the Kaufman County Veterans Jobs Fair on Monday, November 14th, at First Baptist Church of Kaufman.  (302 S. Washington Street, Kaufman, 75142 . It will run between 1:00 and 7:00 PM.   It’s sponsored by a number of economic development committees and Kaufman County Veterans Affairs.   The official flyer for the event can be downloaded here.   The goal is to provide more economic opportunities to the men and women who have served their country in our armed forces.

What an incredible place to live.

Thank you to all who have served.  Your sacrifice will not be forgotten or ignored.   At least, not in Kaufman County.

  • This is one of the most important videos of Kaufman Country Veterans appreciation. And yet I could not find it on the VFW FACEBOOK WALL. WHY…????

    • Terry,

I believe the Kaufman VFW posts have both shared it, as well as the American Legion. I’m not sure why it’s not visible but I do know they shared the video.

      Thank you for your comments!
